Roy's Grill first opened in 1934 on the Old Federal Highway, now Chickamauga Ave., By Roy Lewis. In 1949, the original Roy's was torn down so the Federal Highway could be widened. It was quickly rebuilt and Roy's became a popular hangout for students and an iconic stop for tourists passing through Chattanooga.
